Water is important to stay healthy year-round. But it becomes even more important in the summer as temperatures increase. The best practice is to get a refillable water bottle and bring it with you everywhere to avoid dehydration and heat exhaustion. Just as important as bringing water with you everywhere during the sweltering summer months, you should also wear SPF (Sun Protection Factor) any time you leave the house. Even if you think you are just walking a block or two to work, you still need to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays. If you are going swimming, hiking, or doing anything outdoors for a prolonged period of time, SPF becomes even more important in avoiding a nasty sunburn. Also, don’t forget to reapply and wait at least 15 minutes before getting in the water or breaking a major sweat after you apply your sunscreen.
